堅持人民當家作主

在中國，國家的一切權力屬于人民。正因為如此，“堅持人民當家作主”成為新時代堅持和發展中國特色社會主義基本方略之一。黨的十九大報告強調，堅持黨的領導、人民當家作主、依法治國有機統一是社會主義政治發展的必然要求。必須堅持中國特色社會主義政治發展道路，堅持和完善人民代表大會制度、中國共產黨領導的多黨合作和政治協商制度、民族區域自治制度、基層群眾自治制度，鞏固和發展廣泛的愛國統一戰線，發展社會主義協商民主，健全民主制度，豐富民主形式，拓寬民主渠道，保證人民當家作主落實到國家政治生活和社會生活之中。

The People’s Ownership Role

In China state power belongs to the people. It is therefore only natural that respect for the ownership of the people is included as one of the basic policies for promoting socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era. In his report to the 19th CPC National Congress, Xi Jinping emphasizes the unity of leadership by the CPC, the ownership role of the people and the rule of law as a natural outcome of socialist political development. Our resolve will not waver to continue on the path of socialist political development with Chinese characteristics, and to strengthen and improve people’s congresses at all levels, multiparty cooperation and political consultation under the leadership of the CPC, regional ethnic autonomy, and community-level self-governance. Our objectives are, among others, to strengthen and develop a broadest possible patriotic united front, improve socialist consultative democracy and our democratic institutions，diversify our forms of democracy, and establish more democratic channels of interaction between the government and the public, so as to ensure that respect for the people’s ownership role is incorporated in all aspects of political and social life.
